Matthew 28:16-20 NIV: Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

This is the command that is given to every follower of Christ whether it be a domestic mission in your hometown or an international mission like the one I am embarking on this summer, each and every one of us are called to do mission work it’s just a matter of how boldly you choose to follow this command.

I write this at 2 am as I am sitting in the airport in Sacramento, California after weather caused my travel plans to get delayed significantly, causing me to have to arrive 10 hours late to training camp in Georgia. What was originally a simple overnight flight from home to Georgia quickly turned into a 6 am flight with a 8 hour layover, but God has been using this time significantly for me to spend more time in His word and surrendering what I wanted for my plan to what His will is for my summer. I would be lying if I said that there were not moments tonight when I thought it would just be easier to take the 2.5 hour drive home and spend my summer wedding planning, but God made it abundantly clear that is not what He desires for me to be spending my time doing this summer when a member of our squad would send a message in our group chat every time I thought that going back home was the right idea, also allowing me to practice my humility in fully surrendering to God in these moments.

Please follow along my journey this summer as I continue to post and update friends and family back home on how God continues to work in and through me this summer! Next stop, Georgia! Then to spend my summer with an amazing team of people in Thailand and Cambodia to share the good news of Jesus with every person we meet! I love and miss each and every one of my friends and family back home already, and Devin all the way in Taiwan 🙂
